Jyoti Bhatt is best known for his modernist work in painting and printmaking and also his photographic documentation of rural India. He moved from a cubist influence in his early work, to a lighthearted and colorful Pop art that often drew its imagery from traditional Indian folk designs. Though Bhatt worked in a variety of mediums, including watercolors and oils, it is his printmaking that ultimately garnered him the most attention.
This print is screen-printed on archival paper with the involvement and approval of the artist who decides the number of impressions to be made for a particular painting, calling it an edition. Each print is then numbered and signed by the artist.
Such editions allow more people to enjoy and own these works of art. After the edition is sold out no more prints will be made, making it a limited edition. Each print comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
