Like the Hindu culture worship of many gods and goddess and belief with supernatural powers are common among the Gonds too. Here the god Bada Deo who is worshipped usually in the form of a 'Bana' a musical instrument is depicted in the artist's vision. Songs and stories in Bada Deo's praise are often recounted around the festival of Nag Panchami.
Suresh Durve, hails from the state of Madhya Pradesh. Experimenting in his new style he has moved away from the original technique of using dots, lines, and bright hues to black and white forms, with colors used sparingly. He also shades his creations. He has been showcasing his paintings along with other Gond artists, both nationally and internationally.
